What is bonsai and brews?

Bonsai & Brews is a fun and creative workshop-style event hosted in collaboration with local breweries, cafes and distilleries.  During this 2-hour hands-on experience, you will create your own bonsai tree from scratch with guidance from local bonsai artists, as well as learn the basics of care from before you take home your own living masterpiece!

How much does it cost to attend an event?
The cost of attending an event is $75 per person, and includes:

  • Your choice of a tropical species pre-bonsai tree
  • Your choice of a glazed ceramic pot
  • Wire, bonsai soil, and substrate
  • Hands-on instruction to style and care for your new miniature masterpiece from award-winning bonsai artists
  • Aftercare instructions and guidance
  • Use of all tools and supplies necessary to create your bonsai are provided for Bonsai & Brews, and also available for purchase to take home at the end of the workshop.
How can I book an event?

You can book an event by clicking on the “Book Event” button next to the date and location of your choice. You will be redirected to a registration page where you can fill out your details and pay online. You can also learn more about Bonsai & Brews events here.

What do I need to bring to an event?
You don’t need to bring anything to an event, except your enthusiasm and creativity. We will provide everything you need to create your own bonsai tree.
Can I bring a friend, does every attendee need a ticket?

Of course, you can bring a friend. The more the merrier! 😊 However, please note that each person should have a ticket to attend.  If your friend does not have a ticket, due to limited seating availability we cannot guarantee that you can sit together, if at all. You can book a ticket online up until the start of the event, or with the host at the venue, subject to availability. 🍻

Are brews included in the ticket price?
No, drinks are not included in the ticket price. Bonsai & Brews is hosted in collaboration with local breweries, we bring the bonsai, the brewery offers the brews!

Each ticket price covers the cost of the bonsai tree, the pot, the soil, the wire and supplies, as well as hands-on instruction from multiple award-winning bonsai artists.

Note: Some brewery locations do offer a welcome drink, that information will be included on the event page.

What is the minimum age for attending an event?
There is none! Bonsai & Brews is a fun and creative experience designed to be accessible and entertaining for all ages and skill levels. Most of the breweries that host the event are also restaurants and family-friendly. However, please note that some venues may have age restrictions.
Can I host a bonsai event at my own venue?

Yes, you can! If you are interested in hosting a bonsai event at your own venue, please fill out the form at the bottom of the page and we will get in touch with you. We can customize the event to suit your needs and preferences.

Can I get a refund for my ticket?
No Refunds will be issued for tickets.

If you need to cancel within 48 hours of the event, we'll provide a 50% discount towards a future event.

All tickets are transferrable to any Bonsai & Brews event, up until 48 hours before the scheduled event.

To cancel your booking, please contact us at info@thunderstruckbonsai.com with your name, date, and location of the event. We will process your refund within 7 business days.

Are tickets transferrable?
Yes, tickets are transferable! If you cannot attend an event, you can transfer your ticket to any of our upcoming events, or give your ticket to someone else. However, you need to inform us of the change at least 48 hours before the event. Contact Us with your name, date, and location of the event, and the upcoming event of your choosing or the name of the person who will take your place. 🌱
How do I transfer my ticket to another event or person?
To transfer your ticket, please contact us at least 48 hours before the event with your name, the date and location of the event, and the details of the new event or the person taking your place.
How many times can I transfer my tickets?
You can transfer your tickets as many times as you need to until you are able to attend, as long as the transfer request is made at least 48 hours in advance.
Can I cancel my booking and get a refund?
Yes, you can cancel your booking. No Refunds will be issued for tickets.

If you need to cancel within 48 hours of the event, we'll provide a 50% discount towards a future event.

What happens if I need to cancel within 48 hours of the event?
If you need to cancel within 48 hours of the event start time, ticket transfers are no longer valid. We will offer you a coupon code for 50% off future event tickets.
What happens if I miss an event?
If you miss an event, we do not offer refunds. However, you can contact us to discuss potential options for future events.
What should I do if I am running late to an event?
If you anticipate being late, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss your options. We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time.  Please contact us via text at (727) 266-6791, or  email Larry@thunderstruckbonsai.com
I saw someone offering tickets for sale in a Facebook comment. Is this legitimate?
Be cautious of tickets offered for sale in social media comments, as these are often bots or scams. All ticket transfers must be done through Thunderstruck Bonsai, and the names on the tickets must match at check-in.
